The School venue and the lodging for participants are at the Kreuzbergpass Hotel-Passo Monte Croce****, Sesto (Bolzano, Italy) – a 4-star hotel, with many services and amenities, beautifully located in the heart of the Dolomites (UNESCO World Heritage Site), at the gate of the green and fascinating Val Pusteria and right at the feet of some of the most famous mountains.

Lodging (half board: breakfast and dinner) is included in the school fees. Fellowship recipients will be accommodated in shared rooms. Accommodation in single rooms for students can be arranged upon request and requires an additional fee.

• Public transportation: there are several options. From the Trieste-Udine area, there is a very convenient bus combination. If you are in the Venice area, or you fly to Venice Airports (Marco Polo or Treviso), there is also a bus combination. Otherwise, the most convenient option is to use the train (see below), or fly to either Milan, Bergamo, Verona, or Innsbruck,  and then use the train.

  • By bus from Trieste or Udine:

  • By bus from Venice Airport or Treviso Airport:
    1. Use the Cortina Express bus to Tai di Cadore (Cortina Express).
    2. Then take DolomitiBus (https://dolomitibus.it/it/linee-extraurbane-estivo-2026) line 9 or line 30 to Calalzo.
    3. Then take DolomitiBus line 33 to Santo Stefano di Cadore.
    4. Then take DolomitiBus line 73 to Passo Monte Croce / Kreuzbergpass.
  • By train:
    1. Use San Candido / Innichen, Draubrücke as the arrival station (https://www.trenitalia.com/it).
    2. Then take bus line 446 (https://www.suedtirolmobil.info/en/#/) to Passo Monte Croce (approximate frequency: hourly).
