Admission procedure
Applicants will be evaluated and ranked based on the CV, according mainly but not exclusively to the following preferential criteria: background and education, current career standing, English proficiency, interest in energy (see Maximizing my chances for more details).
Applicants will be admitted to the School according to the ranking list, provided that the minimum background requirements are met.
Fellowship assignment will be based on the same ranking list (see section Fees and Fellowships for more details).
Timeline Summary
April 23th, 2026: deadline for applications
May 1st, 2026: list of admitted candidates is published on the School website; fellowship recipients are notified by email
May 5th, 2026: confirmation and payment due
June 22nd, 2026: school begins
How to apply ?
To submit your application prepare your CV and fill the application form!
Please carefully read the following instructions first!
Application requirements:
- Uploading the Curriculum Vitae in English is mandatory (preferred format: European or similar).
- Please, use PDF format only. The file must be renamed as lastname_name_cv.pdf
- The curriculum MUST include a short statement (max 200 words), in English, to emphasize any peculiar aspects of your education, career, personal experience, or personality, that are relevant for admission to the School (see Maximizing my chances section for details). Failure to submit this statement may be ground for exclusion.
- If applicable, clearly state in your CV the University you are currently enrolled in. Failure to do so will result in non-eligibility for the fellowships!
- While preparing their CV and statement, and before submitting the application, candidates are strongly advised to carefully read the Admission Procedure, Fees and Fellowships, and Maximizing my chances sections.
All admitted students will present their thesis or PhD projects at the student pitch session (see Format and contents).
